Maternity Photo Session

I got really lucky a week and a half ago. On my trip to New Jersey, Jess from Heart on Homestead was somewhat nearby, in the Philly area. We met up at Grounds for Sculpture to do some maternity photos!

Maternity pics were something I was planning to skip so we could put our full budget towards newborn photography. Being pregnant is great- it means I’m protecting our little girl and letting her grow- but I’m not necessarily obsessed with it or very “look at me” about it. I’m more ready to have baby girl here and be obsessed with her! But having my talented friend in the area swayed me easily. How could I turn down that opportunity?!? I’m so glad I did these. I thought it would feel awkward/narcissistic to get pictures taken of just me, but I realized it’s really all about celebrating baby girl and the natural beauty and excitement of pregnancy! I feel like the pictures helped me slow down, take a breath, and reflect on how far we’ve come on this journey – as well as look at what the future has in store for us and our growing family.

So, long story short, check out the pictures! Thanks so much to Jessica Faith Photography for the amazing images!! (And yes… there are a bunch!)

This was probably my favorite outfit, and this was earlier in the day before I got way too hot and sweaty! You can tell as my hair gets progressively worse, haha! It was a scorcher.

The above picture is one of my favorites!

(We did the “it’s a girl” pictures between these two outfits- I posted them here already!)

Yay for finding some corn in New Jersey to remind me of Indiana!

This is baby girl at 25 weeks and 4 days. I can’t imagine what these pictures would look like had I done them after 30 weeks (when most people do.)

There was an amazing fog in this area (no idea how they generated it) that felt so surreal.

(I couldn’t choose if I loved this one more in color or black and white!)

We LOVED these poppies. We think they were fake, either way, can you say GORGEOUS? I love that pop of red.

These two sitting ones are my other faves!

And of course… we had to get one together…

It was amazing spending time with Jess (and her “assistant” Noah, haha!) Jess, thank you for your creativity and patience! And for convincing me to do this. Your talents helped me to look at my body and pregnancy in a completely new and different way, and I can’t thank you enough for the push to do this!
