Bump Update – 24 Weeks

24 weeks on the 24th! Andddd a week since my last post. I keep saying “oh I’m going to post more than just bump updates!” but then I don’t. Usually when bloggers haven’t been posting as much it’s because they’re busy living life. I think for me it’s just that I’m too busy watching TV after work. I do have things to share but no energy to put the posts together… but stay tuned! (I have lost motivation/energy to do my nails too, so you know it’s legit.) Anyway, here I am at 24 weeks!

24 Weeks (6/24/2013)

How far along? 24 weeks
Baby’s Size: Cantaloupe
Maternity clothes? Yep, and I really gotta cool it on the purchases! I was thinking yesterday that while I complain a lot about the Florida heat, it’s nice to just buy tanks/tees, skirts, and dresses. I get jealous of the ADORABLE winter maternity clothes (all the long sleeve things on our sale racks!) but more layers = more clothes = more moola.
Best moment this week: FINDING THE BLACK OLD NAVY TANK TOP!!!!!! The one I asked you guys to help me find. My store must have restocked because they had tons. I live in them… most comfortable, supportive tank ever.
Miss anything? The usual, beer and feeling like I “own” my body.
Movement: Sure thing! I don’t feel it constantly, just a few times a day, usually at night right around 11:00pm (the baby dance party as I call it) or a bit before that. Looks like baby is a night owl like B.
Food cravings: SWEEEEETS. I went to the store to get ingredients for brownies yesterday, and plan to make wacky cake this week too. Can’t get enough. Yeah, let’s not get on the scale just yet.
Anything making you queasy or sick: The usual still. I have cut back the nausea meds to every other day though!!! Celebrating the small wins over here!
Gender: Still know, still not telling!
Labor signs: Nope.
Symptoms: The usual hip/back pain and (controlled) nausea and heartburn. Nothing new! Great chiropractic visit this week though.
Belly button in or out? Cavernous innie, but it’s still slightly shallowing each month!
Happy or moody most of the time: I had a pretty happy week! It was quiet and B is back to two days off so I got to spend Thursday and Friday with him. It was great to just enjoy each other a little, even though we didn’t do anything exciting.
Looking forward to: My showers! I talked to my mom about the NJ one and she was telling me about my almost five year old cousin, whose mom is hosting it at her house. My cousin, Keri, is just the cutest (remember her from Min’s shower?) and loves talking to our mom about me and my sisters. She told my mom “my friend from Florida is coming to visit and I’m having a baby shower party for her.” I laughed so hard I cried!!! I can’t wait to see her, she’s at such a fun age! And seeing friends and family will be wonderful too. My aunt is flying in from Arizona! AND, I just found out one of my cousins moved back to NJ from out of state so I get to see him too!

Since I’m celebrating my amazing Old Navy tank, here’s a picture from this morning before work! 24 weeks feels pretty legit!

Unflattering but yet- HELLO BUMP!

It’s amazing to me how some people are like “you don’t even look pregnant!” and others are like “you are/are going to be HUGE!” I have yet to be told in person that I look good/great/glowing/cute/adorable or anything flattering. Go figure.

In fact my chiropractor even mentioned how I didn’t look that pregnant a week after she said I “popped!” Granted, laying down is different than me standing. She mentioned that my long torso (it’s quite long) is keeping me from showing as much (though I carry a lot of weight in my belly so I think while standing they combine forces.)

And may I say… the chiropractor has been AWESOME! I do exercises/therapy first (and they’re NOT FUN!!!) then get an adjustment. I thought chiropractics would be me laying down and getting massaged/adjusted. But the exercises are keeping me loose and helping prepare me for the rest of my pregnancy and labor. My chiropractor herself had a baby less than two years ago so she’s been really helpful with her comments. I’ll write more about it- I have posts planned for my labor fears/hopes, and about my chiropractic experience- but basically she has helped me to feel empowered and strong.

Thanks for visiting to hear about this week in beebee-world! Come back tomorrow because I’ll be needing your fashion advice. I don’t have coworkers or local friends to ask, so I ask the internets. Please don’t let me down (you haven’t yet!) Happy Monday everyone!
