Bump Update – 22 Weeks

22 weekarooskis… 18 to go…

22 Weeks (6/10/2013)

How far along? 22 weeks
Baby’s Size: Papaya
Maternity clothes? Yep! Still searching for the elusive tunic tops to wear with leggings though.
Best moment this week: Feeling some kicks from both inside AND outside! And had my first stranger recognition of my pregnancy (well, bank teller I see a lot, so not TOTAL stranger. Whatever, I’ll take it.)
Miss anything? Feeling in control/familiar with my body. I love all the belly related “symptoms” but all the random ones that are hard to associate with a baby are making me frustrated, like I don’t feel like myself.
Movement: Yes, some every day! A lot around 11pm. And last night I felt kicks both inside AND with my hand outside. That was the coolest thing EVER!!!!
Food cravings: I keep craving healthier things but have zero energy to make them. If someone could prepare me a salad daily that would just be great.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still nothing doing it except baby. Today I felt strangely sick all day. Baby growth spurt, maybe?
Gender: Still know, still not telling!
Labor signs: Nope.
Symptoms: You know how I was all “I can’t complain, medicine helps, and at least I don’t have heartburn?” Well now I have a little heartburn every day. More in the top of my throat than my chest. I should really just keep my mouth shut from now on. (The rest of my symptoms remain, to no one’s surprise.)
Belly button in or out? Still innie but possibly on the move.
Happy or moody most of the time: I’ve had a bit of a stressful week and am trying to learn to just put my stress aside.
Looking forward to: B feeling baby kick sometime soon, hopefully! And telling my mom whether she’s going to have a grandson or granddaughter!

This has been the first week I felt kind of “over” being pregnant. B and I went to Disney for a quick visit and dinner. I previously have done five or six hours walking around Disney without issue. We were there three or four hours and I could barely move by the end of it. My hips and back felt like they were breaking and every step was painful. This happens any time I’m on my feet more than an hour. One doesn’t usually associate hip pain with pregnancy right away. It’s not one of those happy symptoms like feeling the baby kick, or even the semi-treatable ones like nausea. But it’s a reality for many pregnant women, like me. It made me upset that I couldn’t really enjoy being out and about with B. I hate feeling so limited to not do things I was easily able to do before. I actually have dreams about running once a week or so! I couldn’t even make it 1/10 of a mile running right now. I didn’t realize how much about my body would change, as far as just how I felt doing day to day things, or how I felt when I woke up in the morning. I just want the baby here already so I can enjoy baby and get a little back to feeling “normal.” But baby still has cooking to do, so I’ll happily keep it up! Especially if I keep getting these sweet kicks!

  • When I first started feeling W move I would eat a few Italian ices to get him sugar high so he wouldmove a lot. Then in the end I would avoid it so he wouldn’t get sugar high and punch me in the ribs, lol.

Oh, and aloe juice was the only thing that helped my heart burn. I get it at Trader Joe’s but I’m sure any health food store should have it.

  • My hips and back hurt so bad when I’m on my feet too much! This weekend I was on my feet alot, so they really hurt.

  • Oh no! Don’t say that you are “over it” just yet. You have a long way to go and trust that feeling just gets worse.

Totally disgusting but when I had heartburn with Aiden, I drank apple cider vinegar in hot apple cider to mask the taste and smell. Worked like a charm.

Another side note – love the new cut!

  • My heartburn was so bad with Mackenzie I was taking zantac. I just told Erin last night how I’ve had no heartburn so far….I’m sure I just spoke too soon.

  • Yay, finally caught up on all of your posts!

Sorry you’re feeling over pregnancy already. Hopefully this month will fly by and you’ll have your busy July to keep you distracted!

  • You look so fabulous! You are too cute preggers! I hate you are having heart burn and your most recent Disney trip was so miserable for you. Poor thing :( have no words of wisdom as I have no children… Snuggle the pugs? Your hair looks fab. :)

  • I wish I was craving healthy things but no matter what I’m craving, I always want someone else to make it for me or get it for me. I’m always SO tired now! We went to Babies R’ Us, which is exhausting in it’s own right, but I was there for 4 hours and I felt like I just ran a marathon. Everything was achy and tired. I came home and napped then went to bed early. No fun!
