New Year, New Polishes

It’s 2013 already!?! That’ll take some getting used to.

I got very lucky at Christmas time with some awesome nail polish items.

The Color Club holo on the bottom left and Confetti gray on the bottom right were sweet gifts from Alyssa. Thank Lyss! (PS- I guest posted for her yesterday- check it out!) The two Zoyas were from my sister Rosh for Christmas- the darker gray is called Kelly! And the Deborah Lippmann was a gift from me, to me. The top Julep gray and the blackish Julep glitter were from the Julep New Year’s Eve Mystery Box. (B got it for me for Christmas!) Also included were a polish I didn’t like, one I had dupes for, and one that I already had. I also got a mascara and pedi cream. I got tipped off to the Julep swap group on facebook (if you’re interested, message me and I’ll get you the info, or an invite if we’re facebook friends.) I was able to swap the 3 polishes, mascara, and pedi cream for six other polishes! I already got five of them- the two Julep greens, both Julep glitters, and the Julep peach color in the photo above. The mystery box was $19.99, and then I spent about $10 shipping the swaps- a very worth it deal to me for seven polishes!

The Julep green and nude on the top left in the picture were from the January Julep Maven box. I also got a hand and cuticle stick in the box (I chose this one based off of wanting the green color) and was able to swap the hand and cuticle stick for three non-Julep polishes in the swap group! (It’s mostly Julep but many people have other polish brands to swap too.)

The black Julep glitter was the “mystery glitter” in every NYE mystery box- it doesn’t have a name but some people in the swap group said they saw ones labeled Erica. I thought it would be a great color to celebrate the new year, so I layered it over Deborah Lippmann Brick House (which is more bronze/brassy than red, as this picture seems.)

I also hooked myself up with some new nail polish related items thanks to a Christmas Amazon gift card…

I got some stands to hold polish – this helps when a polish is really used up like my Seche Vites usually are. I also got Seche Restore, which helps thin the Seche Vite when it thickens, without diluting it like remover would. I combined my two 1/4 full SV’s and added the Restore- good as new!
