Weather Woes

Yikes, not a great day for the east coast. I am so devastated for my home state and areas that I love.

In case you’re new here- I grew up in New Jersey. It kills me seeing the damage there, especially the Jersey shore. Places I spent every summer now destroyed. I cannot believe the damage there. Please keep the east coast in your prayers.

Not even close to what they are experiencing out there, we’ve had weird weather here in Florida. A random cold spell- I have been wearing the best cold weather stuff I could find, considering I don’t know where my Uggs or jackets are from the move, and I left my hoodie at the airport recently. Saturday wasn’t too bad- I went to do some shopping and had to throw on this warm and cozy outfit:

Sidenote: I went to LUSH where they were having their Halloween party. They were all dressed up… have you seen the ermahgerd girl meme? One of the guys there dressed up as her. He’s my hero.

Ok, back on topic. Saturday and Sunday were breezy like that… around 70 degrees but windy.

Monday I wake up and take out the pugs- holy crap. It was the first day our house temp dipped below the temp we had set. Our house was in the 60′s. It was COLD. In the 50′s outside I believe. That’s cold when you live in Florida. So you do this:

Don’t worry- not in public. But this was needed for pug outings and work. I couldn’t find any jackets so I put on long sleeve t-shirts.

I can feel your eyes rolling, and it’s ok. I’m a soft Floridian now. But it was FIFTY TWO this morning. We had to turn on the HEAT. Times are tough, people. (Obvious sarcasm… clearly 52 and sunny is nothing compared to the LOWWW temps up north or of course the areas affected by Sandy.)

A few other random things going on around here… I FINALLY got my sister’s save the date!!! (Edited so you guys don’t stalk her.)

I’ve never been more excited to put something on my fridge!! November is find bridesmaid dresses month, and I’ll show you guys what we end up picking, of course.

The pugs are also suffering through this devastating cold front…

Pugs are like little hot water bottles or heating pads, so if you are cold, I would suggest you rescue one. Get ‘em for the heat, keep ‘em for the shedding! (You can weave blankets out of the shedded pug hair, obviously.)

I apologize for the random update and lack of content over the last few days. I’ve been working on a super fun project with a cosmetic brand and will be until mid-November, so that’s taking up some of my time. I can’t wait to tell you all about it when we’re done though! I’m also planning to attempt NaBloPoMo again (a BlogHer thing… I’m not a fan of BlogHer, but I think NaBloPoMo – aka National Blog Posting Month – is a great concept. Post daily in November. I can at least attempt to make it happen.)

Either way… I’ll have a fun Halloween post tomorrow! Happy end of October, everyone! And again… prayers go out to all those hit by Sandy.
