Hey all, it’s Halloween! And I *thought* I was prepared.
No costumes for me, B, or the pugs. I didn’t have the time or the funds to put my idea into action- maybe next year? Plus, B’s working tonight. No Halloween parties for us either.
We have never really had trick-or-treaters in our old houses, but I was optimistic this year. I also decorated for the first time ever, thanks to some great stuff Aunt P got us YEARS ago:
It took minutes to throw these decorations up and they’re so fun! The pumpkin lights are on stakes, the two I took the stakes off of flipped, but the rest (four more) went right-side up on stakes along our walk (out of frame.)
I did my nails last night for the holiday… candy corn! (Yes, I know… it’s been done. But it’s still fun.)
Not my best work but it’ll do. I put on my Halloween charm bracelet today too!
After work, I got on a black (comfy) outfit, and a witch’s hat! I bought two bags of candy just in case we got any trick-or-treaters.
I got a little panicky, but YES, we eventually got trick-or-treaters! And then… more trick-or-treaters! And then… I ran out of candy.
I will blame this partially on me eating it, partially on the number of kids, but mostly on the GREEDY group of 7 year olds who took about 5 each and cleaned me out. I’m not very good at saying “ONE ONLY PLEASE” I was just too excited that people were knocking.
So now, an “OUT OF CANDY! SORRY!” sign is up and the pugs are taking a break from their barking. They’re worn out and I’m still on a sugar high.
Happy Halloween everyone!
