After visiting WDW’s Animal Kingdom and Epcot, we finally made it to The Magic Kingdom!
Our friends Lydia and Aaron are in town, so we had friends to go with. It made it so much fun to go as a foursome. Lydia and Aaron are more like family to us than friends, and we always have a blast when we’re together.
Disney was looking fabulous with all the fall decor.
We got some great pictures in front of the castle… and Aaron photo-bombed with cotton candy.
Lydia and I checked out some of the mouse ears available. She ended up buying the ones I am wearing… glittery!
(Did you notice her first timer button!?)
I loved seeing the Disney themed snacks in the park. It really is a place like nowhere else.
We did a ton of things at The Magic Kingdom. We rode Splash Mountain, Stitch’s Great Escape, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Mad Tea Party (teacups!), and of course Cinderella’s Golden Carousel. I think there were a few other “kiddie” rides in there too. My favorite? Space Mountain. Can you tell?
(Aaron is really good at spotting the cameras.)
(And yeah, not paying $15 for that picture.)
I loved seeing Cinderella’s castle as the sun went down.
And it lit up later!
We stayed to watch the fireworks at 9pm too, which were phenomenal. 12 minutes that felt like the Fourth of July!
Some of the aforementioned rides were experienced post-fireworks, since it was Extra Magic Hours. Eventually we were worn down and it was time to head out. On the way out we saw this awesome water drawing on the pavement. They’re so talented… and there are Mickey’s everywhere!
I am still exhausted from all the walking… it was a blast! I can’t wait to go back and see what it looks like at Christmas with my family when they’re here!

JEALOUS
Awww Disney World! I haven’t been in so long, except for when I was a wee child and lived in Debary… Disney world is WAY better than disney land, imho.
I seriously love Disney SOOOO so much. I blame my two best (non-gay) guy friends who worked there a couple years during college. Actually, one of them still does! He’s an Imagineer! Anywho, love Disney! (not that I’ve ever done this, but Disney is pretty reaking fantastic when you’ve had some juice mixed with alcohol. Again…not that I know from personal experience or anything!)
Ahhh that looks like so much fun! I’m dying to be able to visit Disney some day!
Looks like you had a great time! Now you have me wanting to go to Disney again! I haven’t been since like 97 or something like that!
Epcot has always been my favorite, but there is something so magical about the Magic Kingdom. Cinderella is my favorite Disney movie (well, it’s a tie between that & Sleeping Beauty!) so I love seeing the castle!!!
I’m so freaking jealous – I’ve never been to Disney! I’m sure when I finally go, I’ll probably be more excited than my kid ever will be.
I love going to Magic Kingdom! I am anxious to check out the new fantasy land and Ariel ride (opened last week I think for a sneak peek?), but figure I probably can’t ride it while preggo. Afterwards though, can’t wait! :)
AHh! I am so jealous!!! I love the Magic Kingdom!! My poor husband has never gone to Disney so I really want to take him before we have little ones. Hopefully we can save our pennies and plan a trip there someday… maybe after law school? I really want to go around Halloween and Christmas. I’ll just come move in with ya’ll for a while, k? I’ll hang with the pugs!
Looks like a great day with great friends at a great place!!!
Looks like a fun day. :) I haven’t been to Disney since I was 5! I was traumatized because my Grandma made me & my younger cousin pose with Mickey Mouse for a picture and he stepped on my little 5 year foot with his huge shoe. Ouch! Lol. Crazy I still remember that. :-p P.S. I love that soft pretzel!
I cannot believe you are in shorts, not that I am jealous or anything with our awesome October snow over here!!!
[...] I love watching Kelly’s Disney adventures, as a new Orlando resident! This time she visits Magic Kingdom! [...]
You know what’s sad? I have NEVER seen those Mickey shaped pretzels in the park before!!! And I love pretzels…next time I’m there I need to seek one of those cuties out!
