Going Nude… (The Nail Files!)

Happy Friday, everyone!

I know that I usually have some pretty bold or exciting nail colors on the blog for Nail Files Friday, but today, I’m going nude!

This is one of the two my mom gave me in South Carolina – Essie Delicacy. The website describes it as a sheer and shimmery soft pink. I disagree- it is barely pink at all. Maybe the polish has changed with age, as can sometimes happen. But regardless, I am loving this subdued nail!

I did three very thin coats and they went on beautifully. I used a base coat of Orly Bonder Rubberized Polish Gripping Basecoat (amazing) and as always, Seche Vite for the top coat. If I had known how wonderfully this polish would dry, I would have done a fourth coat. Essie does such a great job with sheer neutral colors like this! The above picture is after about three days of wear. The only bad thing about this color is that you can kind of see through to the nasty stained color of part of my nails (remember?) It’s about halfway grown out now.

I have shockingly not purchased any polishes for myself this month! So instead, let me tell you the colors I am currently lusting over! I found all of the swatch pictures on Scrangie’s blog, of course. Click the picture to be taken to her post about the colors.

Zoya Kelly – it has my name and it’s such an interesting grey!

Essie Very Structured – an orangey taupe that turns more terra cotta when not in sunlight, per Scrangie. LOVE.

Zoya Sloane- perfect fall purple, I love the shimmer.

China Glaze Mahogany Magic – is this color FOOTBALL or what!?

I have a nice long list of colors I want, but the above are the most “fall” of them all. Although it’s still in the 80′s here so I don’t know if even nail polish will put me in an autumn mood. What fall colors are you lusting after?

Don’t forget to link up for The Nail Files with Vicki and Tara!

Have a great weekend, everyone!
