I am so thrilled to tell you all that your good juju worked. Big Daddy has been hired on to a job here full time!
He will still be working at that famous Florida really happy place, but he will now be full time instead of intern status, and will have access to benefits. He’ll have a set schedule (well more like a set day off, sometimes two if he’s lucky.) And he’ll be making a little more per hour, finally! But the best part… he’ll be working at what is pretty much known to be the best or second best restaurant there (depending who you ask!)
As in, when he shadowed there, they told him about which celebrities are nice and which ones are douchenozzles.
I could not be prouder!!! This whole happy place experience has been completely different than I anticipated, and has worked out better than I could have imagined for B. He is on his way to an amazing culinary career.
Last night, we went out to dinner to celebrate!
Poor B… he has lost so much weight that his pants were barely staying up… so please excuse the baggy clothes! And let’s not talk about my awkward and unflattering pose. I have no idea what I was doing.
Since his mom is in town still, we went out to a restaurant in Celebration, FL… Columbia Restaurant. It was awesome! I didn’t take any pictures in the restaurant… I don’t know how you food bloggers do it. I didn’t have a large dinner at all (just had something off the tapas menu) but the four of us ordered three desserts! The best? Their white chocolate bread pudding. It was amazing. If you are in Florida, check out the Columbia Restaurant’s locations and if one is close by, go and get the bread pudding. It was ridiculous! We all agreed it was the best thing we ate.

We are so happy for this new stage in B’s career and our lives, and I can’t wait for him to start on the 30th!

So so exciting!! Congratulations to you both! I’ve eaten at the Ybor City Columbia Restaurant – so so good!! They made the sangria tableside and it was delicious.

And Columbia restaurant is so good, we ate there last year. Their deviled crab was amazing, as was their table-side prepared salad.

I’m so late to the party, but YAY for B!!!!!! That’s absolutely fantastic news and it makes me want to move to Georgia even more now (wow…please remind me I actually said that if/when we have to move back there). I love Disneyworld and want to go again with the hubs—preferably NOT in July. Congrats, congrats!
