This is one of those how do you write about half a day of fun when it was so much more than that? posts.
On Saturday, one of my best friends (and bridesmaid!) Lauren aka Hooch got married.
I got to spend time with some of my favorite people in the world. I got to see people and places and um, FOODS, that I love love love love. And of course, I got to dance the night away.
Spray tan FTW! Me and B outside the church (the Catholic one I went to until my family went Presbyterian… lol.) The dress is, of course, from eShakti! I got custom sizing and it was so comfortable! Even B was able to get past the “Austin Powers” ruffles that he despises on so many of my shirts and dresses.
Our friend Marissa gave a reading but the priest called her Melissa… it was a running joke for the night. She did a great job though!
The official first kiss! Oh and in case any of you were wondering WTF was going on with my twitter feed, my friends and I live tweeted the wedding #pezzies because it is a nickname for them. Most, if not all, my friends are “private” on twitter though so it looked like I was just a weirdo.
Posing with friends Amanda, Emily, and Marissa outside of the birthplace of our nation’s 22nd and 24th president, Grover Cleveland. Obviously our town is famous for this landmark, and it happens to be next to the church.
We all went to check into the hotel after the ceremony. What a hotel it was! There was a bar- like an actual Irish Pub style bar- and beautiful decor throughout. The above ladies are just missing the bride in this pic!
Then it was on a bus and away we went to the reception.
The reception was at a great place where my aunt and uncle got married about six years ago. The cocktail hour was a meal unto itself. The happy couple took pictures for a little bit but mostly got to enjoy it!
The happy Mister was doing seating charts a week or so ago with the Mrs and I guess she had our last name on the table, which was in the corner. To which he kept saying to Lauren, “NOBODY PUTS BIG DADDY IN THE CORNER!” Like, said Big Daddy, not B’s real name. A triumph of blog reading!
So yes. We were in the corner. But we had an awesome view…
How gorgeous was the sky that night!?
Four of us ladies had dates (B, two serious boyfriends, and one fiance) and it was great to have all of them hang out together too. Everyone go along really well.
We danced and danced and danced and I stole peoples’ favors (nine of them. They were bags of saltwater taffy.) My dress had pockets, making this far too easy.
I also got some dancing in with Hooch, of course!
We got to ride the bus to and from the reception so we both partied hard.
A few of us went up to their rooms before going to the hotel bar, and Marissa and I both came down with glasses on. When you party hearty, sometimes the contacts have to go.
It was an awesome evening that ended way too quickly!
Huge congrats to Lauren and Mark on their wedding- I hope you both enjoy this post and of course, your honeymoon in Spain! And to all my friends that threw down with me… you guys are the best and I can’t wait to do it again!!!
