Well here we are again…
So, maybe a normal person wouldn’t be disappointed. I didn’t gain much, and I am still down 35. Which is not horrible.
But I worked my butt off the last week. I didn’t go over my calorie goals at all, and I worked out multiple times- both Zumba and the treadmill.
What my pal Lauren suggested was too much salt! While I was under my calorie goals, I didn’t make the best choices (since we were running on a low pantry) and definitely didn’t get enough water. Which means my goal for the next week is water, water, water! I also have been craving veggies, but was waiting til payday (today!) to go grocery shopping. Very excited to get some good stuff in our fridge again!
I made a little picture collage this week… while wearing this older shirt I felt like the difference was noticeable between now and a little more than a year ago. Unfortunately I don’t think the photograph shows it that well…
On the left is May 2011, on the right is this week. Do you think I look different? I get frustrated because 35 pounds sounds like a lot but I never get comments from real-life people, and I’ve only gone down one pant size. A few people have said that my face shows it the most, which is true. I just wish the rest of me would catch up!
Good news this week though- I got out of the house again! I went to a young professionals meetup last night at a local bar, Bar Louie. They have great happy hour deals and a decent draft beer list. I started with an IPA that was from a Hawaiian brewery (I forgot to write down the name! For shame!) I got a Magic Hat #9 after that, and finished off with a delicious (and highly recommended) Cigar City Jai Alai IPA. Great beers, and I kept up with my craft beer pact.
It was awesome to be around other adults and talk. I was there for more than four hours… there were probably about 12 of us, and everyone was really nice and interesting. Maybe there is hope for me to make friends after all!
Let’s hope that I can learn from this week and chug as much water as I did beer last night!
