So without any further superfluous ado… the five questions.
1. What were you scared of as a kid?
Tons of food scared me as a kid. I would cry if I had to eat a lot of things. I didn’t eat any meat… well I think it would probably be easier to name what I did eat. Saltines, yellow American cheese, green grapes, buttered pasta… pretty much that’s it. I’ve written about it before.
I texted my mom to see what else I was scared of….
I still don’t like walking on wet grass. And STILL don’t like bugs. Not much has changed. Love ya Mom!
2. Do you sleep well in a hotel?
Yep, no problems. Depending on the hotel of course. Whenever B and I get away (aka almost never) and get a room with a king bed, it’s pure heaven. I would break someone’s kneecap to get a king sized bed. The only thing that makes a hotel hard to sleep in is if it’s too quiet. I usually fall asleep with the TV on for that reason.
3. If you could meet any celebrity, dead or alive, who and why?
I would refer you to my “top five,” as any of those fine hunky men would be on the list. I would also agree with MK that meeting Ellen would be amazing. Ellen is the new Oprah. (And Oprah is the new Rosie O’Donnell but that’s another conversation.) Probably if we’re going off the premise that I want a to meet a celeb who will become my bestie, I’d put my money on Jen Lancaster. We’re practically twins but she just doesn’t know it. We would wear pearls and polo shirts and drink wine and pet our dogs and be conservative and send scathing emails to horrible companies and be hilarious and avoid working. Except on our tan.
Jen! I’m just like you! Be my friend! (Well, this is college. I can’t get away with that shit anymore.)
4. It’s a hot summer day. Do you prefer to be pool side or at the beach?
Either. Seriously. We moved to Florida did we not? I have zero friends in Orlando right now but I invite applications, the only requirements are 1- wine lover, 2- pug lover, 3- must have pool access. Seriously have any of you BEEN to Florida? It’s hotter than a warm pug’s belly. And that’s hot.
In all honestly I’d probably prefer the beach, since I spent so much time at the Jersey shore and 90% of that time was at the beach, not the saltwater pool. I do enjoy pools but the chlorine is annoying, and I was always kind of grossed out by pool walls/tile, it just seemed kind of nasty to me. I’d much prefer the sand and saltwater than the pool edges that ruin your bathing suit bottoms.
5. What is your favorite summer dish?
I adore pasta salad, but pretty much only as I make it. I love ice cream any time of year, so that’s in there too. I guess I don’t herd dishes into the summer category really, since I’m not a barbeque person so all those grilled foods that everyone loves? Not impressed. Maybe hot dogs. Seriously, me + food, = so complicated.
