I attempted some pretty advanced nail art tonight, and it went bad. Very bad. So I started over with a simple mani/pedi that I have been wanting to do.
Sephora by OPI Traffic-Stopper Copper over Sally Hansen Smooth and Perfect Color + Care Sorbet
I am obsessed with the peach color of the Sally Hansen Sorbet. And I always love their pro-wide applicator brush, so it was nice to see that. However, the formula stunk. It was thick but runny, DEFINITELY needed three (gloopy) coats, and still, hours later, doesn’t feel set. It’s a hard polish to work with. Which sucks, since I love the color!
I decided to accent the plain peach with the amazing Traffic-Stopper Copper glitter. It has coppery chunks and looked great over the peach, since they are in the similar warm/pinkish family- much like doing silver glitter over grey polish.
It looks great up close, like the picture above, but from a distance it has almost a lace like quality to it. Or maybe I’m just crazy.
I did my toes too, exactly the same. I love how this manicure/pedicure is glittery but still appropriate for everyday. I’m usually scared of all-over glitter, so I think this monochromatic take really works for me.

So pretty! I need more glitter polishes in my life. Actually, I just need more polish in my life.
I LOVE glitter nail polish, but it usually is so hard to remove! I usually have to wrap my fingers in remover-covered paper towel and let them soak for a minute or two – especially with the larger flakes in the glittery Essie colors. Any tips for getting it off easier??
I love the glitter! Bummer about the three coats. And about the nail-art-gone-wrong incident. It’s the worst when you spend forever doing them, just to grab the remover and then take it all off. Boo!! ;)
Cute combo!
