I have two yellow nail polishes (one a little lighter than the other) but have never worn them. This week, Anne at Hell on Heels (my new blogger crush… sorry if that’s creepy) posted pictures from a wedding rocking some yellow, and I was inspired to FINALLY use one of my yellows! I chose the paler yellow from Ulta, and decided to accent it with a Sally Hansen hot pink half-moon cuticle, using the circle reinforcement label stickers like everyone has been pinning and blogging about.
Featured is Stanley the Pug, with Revlon Scented Polish Mon Cherry, Ulta Cream of the Crop, and Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear Fushia Power.
I was a little sloppy but I still think they still look really great!
(Especially from farther away.)
The mani goes pretty well with my morning coffee in the pug mug.
I did NOT feel like attempting this look on my toes, so I used a different color. I honestly forgot it was scented and forgot to smell them… you know, on my toes. That would be weird. Maybe when I wear it on my fingers eventually I will give it a sniff. (Update: just sniffed my big toe and it smelled half like foot and half fruity.)
I picked out this color because it was the perfect poppy pinkish-red… in the bottle. It looks more red on my toes, but that’s ok- it’s a fun, bright color for the start of summer. I think this color would look great paired with a very pale mint too.
Have you ever attempted a half-moon cuticle mani? And have you had success with scented polish?
Thanks to Vicki and Tara for hosting the Nail Files, as always!

That is so different!! Cute!
I adore that yellow/pink combo!!
Love the pink & yellow combo – really makes the pink pop! I need to get some of those stickers.
I’m envious of all of your girly abilities. I paint my toes, but only because I live in flip flops. Even then, I wait until they look miserable to repaint them. And the newest nail polish I own is probably at least 5 or 6 years old… Okay, that’s sort of gross. Maybe I should buy a bottle this weekend…
LOVE! i’ve gotta try this!
[...] I’ve been in that situation the last week… and ended up recycling my mani/pedi from the last week! [...]
Love the look! I’ve tried this out before myself – I painted the base coat first and let it fully dry, then I used those little ring stickers that you put on papers to reinforce the 3 hole punch (know what I’m talking about?) to stick on my nail to make the lines smooth. It worked out pretty well, as long as my nails were fully dry! Haha, I accidentally tried it once when they weren’t and that made kind of a mess….
LOL, that’s what I said I did too!
