After going on a pinning spree today, I had to do a fun manicure. It’s been weeks since I had done my nails, and I was hankering to FINALLY use one of my Zoya polishes. Kelly from Brownies and Zucchini sent me her fun size version of Zoya’s Bevin a month or so ago. Out of the four Zoya polishes I was deciding between for this mani, B chose it! I did Bevin as the base coat, then added some flair.
Before I touched them up:
I did Zoya’s Bevin (the darker blueish/greenish/grey) and let it dry. Like, really dry. Then I applied scotch tape (that I had stuck on my skin a few times to de-sticky it a bit) at the halfway part of the nail, and painted the lower part with essie’s Turquoise and Caicos. After that had seriously dried, I did the same with tape, this time covering half of the turquoise, and painted the bottom part with essie’s Navigate Her.
It looks even cooler from far away, since it all melds together a bit. No pic of it farther away… just walk away from your computer for that effect.
I also did my toes with the Zoya Bevin, adding the ombre to my big toes.
Yikes, the flash really messed with the colors in that picture on my iPhone! But the regular cameras are packed still so I’m using the iPhone for pictures right now. Thanks, instagram!
And of course I’ll be linking this up to Vicki and Tara‘s Nail Files on Friday!
Thanks for the nail polish, Kelly! I am loving Zoya right now. What brand of polishes are you obsessed with right now?

so much fun! I want to try doing something like this now. I hate the way the color is always off for photos :(
I was wondering if that was the polish that I sent! I’m glad it got put to good use, you are always so creative with your nail polish I love it!
My two favorites right now are Zoya and Essie – although I’ve gotten a couple of Essie polishes recently that were much lower quality than the others. I don’t know whats up with that.
That looks awesome!
So cute! I love all of the colors you used!
I love this!
loves it!!!!!
What a cute idea!! Great colours!
This is a really cool way to do ombre nails.
Very nice! I did ombre nails a few weeks back and if you want to get the full effect, use a makeup sponge to blend the colors :)
To answer your question – I’m newly a fan of Essie. Not sure why I never tried it before.
Really I just wanted to tell you that your blog header is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.
Thanks Mrs. Williams- just wait for my redesign coming soon! You’ll love it :)
Oooh love that! I haven’t tried Zoya yet, but I do want to :)
