NYE 2011-2012

So, basically, we had the best New Year’s Eve ever.

New Year’s Eve was a Saturday, obviously. On Friday, B’s friend Best Man Dan called and said, simply, “I’m in Bloomington, see you in an hour.” Dan lives in Chicago, but went to IU with B. IU is (more like two hours) south of us in Bloomington, and Dan and some Chicago friends were there for New Year’s. We tried to tell Dan it wouldn’t be possible but things fell into place. He offered to share his hotel room, I figured I could leave the next day after work, B would have two nights down there, B’s brother agreed to feed the pugs Saturday night/Sunday AM for us… it just worked out. So B left Friday about 20 minutes later, and I left the next day around 7pm after work.

When I arrived, the college town was abuzz from their win against Ohio State. We went to Kilroy’s on Kirkwood to celebrate and ring in the new year!

On the walk to the bar, we passed B and Dan’s old house!

The bar was crazy crowded but we enjoyed our massive, cheap beers! Gotta love college towns!

Dan and B snuck in some snuggles.

Dan and I got to finally catch up… it had been ages!

Dan also bought us the Kilroy’s dance marathon charity scarves the bar was selling. They say KOK for Kilroys on Kirkwood and FTK for For The Kids. Can’t beat ‘em!

Things got a little crazy.

Best Man Dan and I did our usual Kid N Play dance. Judge me, I dare you. I moved a TABLE.

Oh, and on the walk back to the hotel, I may or may not have taken off my boots. I’m a classy lady in a college town.

I am a big believer in that a year is only as good as the New Year’s Eve is. Last NYE sucked and 2011 MAJOR sucked. NYE before that was super fun, and 2010 was also super fun. And so on, and so on. So hopefully 2012 reflects the effortless, spontaneous fun of this New Year’s celebration.
